In 1945 Bill "Willy" Jacobs started in the window and door business installing weight and chain windows, storm windows and storm doors. He brought his son Bill into the business in the early 1950's, working after school and on the weekends. Continuing the business, Bill opened E-Z Tilt Window in 1970 with a showroom displaying the future of windows, the "vinyl replacement window". Seeing the need for a higher quality product which kept with a traditional look and feel, Bill took on the Marvin product line, becoming the first Marvin dealer in NYC. By the early 1980's E-Z Tilt had established a reputation as specialists in brownstones and townhouses.

Bill with his son Bill Jr., who joined the business in 1985 had developed methods of installing the windows in historic buildings without damaging the ornate woodwork, and minimizing the loss of glass which was the major problem in the new style of wood windows entering the market. By the late 1980's Bill Jr. introduced the AutoCAD into the company to help work seamlessly with Marvin's architectural division and the architects in the field. In 1995 Bill Jr. was handling the "historical replacement" side of the business, preparing shop drawings, filing of LPC permits custom designing the Marvin products for each application.

Seeing the need for a showroom where Architects and Contractors could go to layout their projects and see NYC specific Marvin products, Bill Sr. and Bill Jr. decided to open up a showroom in Manhattan in January 2003. This location is set up to serve the trade and homeowners alike. It is set up with a full time architectural department and commercial division. Whether you are homeowner needing 6 windows replaced in your brownstone or a contractor needing 600 windows, we are fully equipped to handle your project.
